Great Job Level 4 Girls!

Level four girls are off to a great start!

Eagle’s Wings Athletics level 4 team competed in the TAAF Winter Games January 16^th. Their first meet this year, and they came home Winter Games Champions. Lucey Hilley had the highest all around scoring a 38.55. She also earned the highest score on floor, 9.7, and second on beam, 9.35 and bars, 9.75. Alyssa Alvarez was second all around scoring a 38.4. She had the highest score on bars with a 9.8, and second on floor with a 9.65. Allie Bianchi finished third all around scoring a 38.15. She also had the highest beam score with a 9.7. Priscilla Ramirez and Valerie Young both tied for the highest vault score of a 9.8. Another top finisher was Addie Hebert scoring a 37.00 all around. Bria Shavers, Jessica Mingee, Alexandra Privat, Keira Cushman, Iris Moorehead and Brooke Bennett also competed contributing to the team’s first place win!

Congrats To Our T & T Athletes

The Eagle’s Wings Athletics Trampoline and Tumbling Team competed this past weekend and won 15 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals as well as the first place team award for level 9 double mini.

The Dallas Cup was held at the Allen Event Center on January 21- 22 and was hosted by Eagle’s Wings Athletics. At the Dallas Cup over four hundred athletes from three different states competed in trampoline, tumbling, and double mini trampoline.

The gold medal winners were, Brittany Stout (level 8 tumbling), Peter Kring (level 5 tumbling), Tyler Dunning (level 7 double mini and trampoline), Bryan Bashrum (level 10 double mini), Grayson Ireland (level 5 double mini), Isaac Rowley (level 10 double mini and trampoline), Wyatt Sharp (level 9 trampoline), Lauren Huck (level 6 tumbling), Madison Smith (level 5 tumbling), and Abigail Stewart (level 4 tumbling).

The silver medal winners were, Ashley Davis (level 4 tumbling), Sara Stewart (level 9 double mini), Sheldon Darnell (level 8 tumbling and double mini), Jeremy Darr ( level 6 double mini and trampoline), Cole Kirby (level 8 trampoline), Peter Kring (level 7 trampoline), Brian Schmidt (level 10 trampoline), Wyatt Sharp (level 8 double mini), and Marshall Stanton (level 5 double mini).

The bronze medal winners were, Macy Levine (level 7 double mini), Sydney Wendt (level 10 tumbling), Bryan Bashrum (level 10 trampoline), Tyler Dunning (level 5 tumbling), Grayson Ireland (level 41 tumbling & level 5 trampoline), Cole Kirby (level 8 double mini), Peter Kring (level 6 double mini), and Wyatt Sharp (level 7 tumbling).

The Trampoline and Tumbling Team is coached by Amy McDonald, Josh Williams, Collin Wallick, and Mike Wegrzyn. Head coach Amy McDonald had this to say about the Trampoline and Tumbling Team’s first competition of the season “I am very proud of all the athletes, this was our first meet of the season and everyone was very nervous but they competed like champions. I look forward to seeing them progress and doing even better at our next competition on February 12^th in Lancaster, TX.”

Friday Night Open Gym is held Friday of every month from 7p - Midnight {7p-10p ages 6+, 10p-Midnight ages 14+ or 7p-Midnight ages 14+}.  This is good opportunity to let your kids come and be kids. The Eagle’s Wings staff will be on hand to help with skills and monitor gym activities. Kids can work on tumbling, trampoline, tumble trax or just play in the pit. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend FNO, students enrolled in a class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate.

Dallas Cup This Weekend

The Allen Event Center welcomes the return of the 3rd Annual Dallas Cup, hosted by Eagle’s Wings Athletics and Team Eagle’s Wings Booster Club, January 21-22.

Tumbling and Trampoline gymnasts of all ages showcase a weekend of enthusiasm and athleticism as they compete for the Dallas Cup championship.

Eagle’s Wings Athletics (EWA) is proud to be the home to state, regional, national and international champions in gymnastics, power tumbling and cheer. EWA began educating local Allen athletes on the fundamentals of gymnastics in 2003. EWA will expand their inspiring and motivating gyms to new locations in Prosper and Celina.

Dallas Cup competitive events take place at the Allen Event Center Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22.

This Friday we have something for everyone when it comes to Open Gyms! Check them out below and see which one works best for you!

Preschool Open Gym (Ages 18 mths - 5 years)
(closed June - August) *Begins September 17, 2010

Preschool Open Gym will be held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month from 10:00a to 12:00p. Open gym is a wonderful time to play with your children in the gym, have them show you the things they have learned in class, and just enjoy being in the gym. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend PSOG, students enrolled in a preschool class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate. Children ages 5 and under must have an adult present during their time at Open Gym.

Home School Open Gym (Ages 3 and older)

Eagle’s Wings Athletics Home School Open Gym is held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month from 1p - 3p. Open gym is a non-structured environment where participants can move freely around the gym. Participants can practice gymnastics skills, work on strength or build forts out of mats. This is a great opportunity for kids to let out a little energy, while being physically fit. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend HSOG, students enrolled in a class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate. Children ages 5 and under must have an adult present during their time at Open Gym.
