Looking for something to do over the holiday? Why not get ahead of the competition and attend our tumble clinics?
General Information:
At EWA we offer tumbling clinics throughout the year for those getting some intensive training on their tumbling skills. Participants will be split up by level 1st and age 2nd. These clinics geared toward, but not limited to, guys and girls trying out for cheerleader.
Price:
$15 for Members
$20 for Non Members

Gingerbread Jam Mini Meet

General Information:
Mini Meets at EWA are a great way to see how your child is progressing in his/her class.
Each student enrolled in one of our Mini Meets will perform a combination of skills (routines) that they have learned in class. Our EWA team students will judge them based on their performance. Scores will not be given like in a real meet, but we will recognize if the students can successfully perform the skills on each event or if they need a little help. If all of the skills on the event are done well with no spot or help from the coach, they will receive a blue ribbon. If they need a spot or just can’t quite complete the skill, they will receive a green ribbon for doing their best. If the students receive all blue ribbons, they will also receive a trophy and will advance to the next class level! No matter what or how the student performs, they will all receive ribbons and be rewarded for doing their best!
Price:
Spaces are limited for Mini Meets, so we strongly suggest you register for Mini Meets as soon as you can! Registration is $15 per student, and we do not accept registrations past the Saturday prior to the Mini Meet.
EWA also offers a class competitive leotard for our girls and a class competitive shirt/shorts for our boys to perform in. Both will have the EWA logo on the front. The cost for each is $35.00. When you purchase one for your child , registration for the Mini Meet is FREE!

Shianne 1st on Beam!
Shianne Orr of Eagle’s Wings Athletics in Allen earned the state championship title on two individual events and the all-around at the USA Gymnastics Level 6 Texas State Championships held Nov. 20-21 in Cedar Park.
Ashleigh's Awesome Vault!
Orr won the top spot in the all-around with a score of 38.175, having also taken gold on balance beam (9.825) and floor exercise (9.7). She placed fourth on uneven parallel bars (9.35) and tied for ninth on vault (9.3) out of the 20 competitors in the Jr. C2 age division.
Teammate Ashleigh Rose competed in the Jr. A1 division and took silver on vault with a score of 9.525. Rose also earned sixth place on balance beam (9.65) and floor exercise (9.575) to earn a total of 37.00 and tenth place all-around.
The girls are coached by Alex Atamas and Helen Verucchi at Eagle’s Wings Athletics.

Make-Up Day

Has you child missed a class recently? Athletes will be given two options for missing a class. In either case, the office must be notified within two weeks of the absence, and each athlete will only be allowed to make-up 1 class missed per month. Option 1 is to attend our *NEW* scheduled make-up class on the 3rd Saturday of the month {Please check our Calendar of Events for specific times each month}. This class will be appropriate for all classes and all levels. Please preregister with the office. Option 2 is to receive a free Open Gym pass allowing the student to attend either preschool Open Gym or Friday night Open Gym for free. This pass is not good for Saturday Night Out. For team make-ups, you must talk with your team coaches.
Our monthly make-up class is this Saturday from 1p-2p. Are you signed up?
Gym Closures
Thanksgiving is almost here, and we will be closed for some time during that week! We will have regular classes 11.22 and 11.23, but are closed for classes 11.24-11.28. School’s Out Camps are going on Monday 11.22 and Tuesday 11.23 as well as Friday 11.26. We will be having Friday Night Open Gym on Black Friday, so mark your calendars!

EWA School’s Out Camp provides a quality program that encourages kids to set personal goals, challenge themselves and develop good sportsmanship and team work skills while enjoying a fun and active day camp experience.Children ages 3 and older are welcome to come to camp. You can choose from 2 or 3 day camps and stay from 8am - Noon (ages 3+), Noon - 4pm (ages 3+), or 8am - 4pm (ages 5+). The choice is yours! Preschool Open Gym (Ages 18 mths - 5 years)
(closed June - August) *Begins September 17, 2010
Preschool Open Gym will be held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month from 10:00a to 12:00p. Open gym is a wonderful time to play with your children in the gym, have them show you the things they have learned in class, and just enjoy being in the gym. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend PSOG, students enrolled in a preschool class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate. Children ages 5 and under must have an adult present during their time at Open Gym.

Home School Open Gym (Ages 3 and older)

Eagle’s Wings Athletics Home School Open Gym is held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month from 1p - 3p. Open gym is a non-structured environment where participants can move freely around the gym. Participants can practice gymnastics skills, work on strength or build forts out of mats. This is a great opportunity for kids to let out a little energy, while being physically fit. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend HSOG, students enrolled in a class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate. Children ages 5 and under must have an adult present during their time at Open Gym.

Friday Night Open Gym (Ages 6 and older)
Friday Night Open Gym is held Friday of every month from 7p - Midnight {7p-10p ages 6+, 10p-Midnight ages 14+ or 7p-Midnight ages 14+}. This is good opportunity to let your kids come and be kids. The Eagle’s Wings staff will be on hand to help with skills and monitor gym activities. Kids can work on tumbling, trampoline, tumble trax or just play in the pit. Although Members and Non Members are allowed to attend FNO, students enrolled in a class can attend Open Gym at a reduced rate.
*Sick of the longs lines to get into Friday Night Out? Buy a speed pass and skip the line! Cards are good for 10 open gyms {7p-10p times only} and you must be a member to purchase a speed pass. Current members get 10 Open Gyms for $100 and New members get 10 Open Gyms for $90 with purchase of $35 membership to EWA. Our speed pass is convenient business card sized and has all your information directly on the card making check-in a breeze! Speed Passes will be on sale at all Open Gyms. Purchase yours in advance to avoid the line to purchase one at FNO.
