Make-up Class in Allen & Prosper

Join us for our monthly Make-up class Saturday December 17th from 1p-2p at both our Locations. Your child must be pre-registered to attend this make-up class. Tumble Clinic in Allen

Mini Meet Coming Soon!

Have you ever participated in a Mini Meet at EWA?  These meets are such a fun time for the kids to show off all the amazing skills they are learning in classes!  In class, each child is learning routines to perform for your family and friends.  During the Mini Meet, family and friends are allowed on the floor to get an up close and personal view of your child’s progress.  Bring the cameras and snap as many photos as you’d like!  Video is allowed too, so charge up the camcorder and c’mon!

Our next Mini Meet is December 10th and we are not only hosting this at our Allen location, but our Prosper location as well!  Check out the pictures below to get an idea of what goes on ….

Special Halloween SNO

Have you ever been to our Halloween SNO?  If the answer is “no” then you have been missing out!  We have a costume contest with awards for most creative costume, best handmade costume, best face paint, silliest costume and more!  We also set up fun carnival games where the kids can earn prizes throughout the night!  Pizza and drinks is included as usual as well as some fun Halloween treats!

So get your costume together, register and pay early so you don’t have to wait in line, and be ready to have the best time ever at your favorite EWA location this Saturday, October 29th from 6p-10p!  We will see you there!

Costume Week at EWA

Halloween is almost here, and we are ready to have some fun in the gym…well, more fun anyway :]  Join the EWA staff and send your athlete to their class in their Halloween costume this entire week!  Are you going to be a Princess or Buzz Light Year?  Do you have an original idea that will blow us out of the water?  We can’t wait to find out!  Don’t have a costume yet?  Have fun creating something with things around the house!  See you at the gym :]

Teddy Bear Week at EWA

It’s Teddy Bear week for our Preschoolers!  Bring your teddy bear to class and teach them how to hang from the bar, walk on the beam, do front rolls down the cheese mat, and more!  Please make sure that your teddy bear is soft and able to move freely {no hard plastic dolls please}.  See you in the gym!

Gymnast Places at State, Advances to Regionals

Allen’s own Makenzie Johnson was one of the 101 level 10 gymnasts to descend on Texas Women’s University March 26 for the Texas State Championships. Johnson, who trains at Eagle’s Wings Athletics (EWA), won fifth place all-around out of the 18 competitors in the Senior B age group.

Johnson’s highest score came on the floor exercise, a 9.675 that was awarded 6th place. She earned a 9.625 (9th place) on vault, and took 6th place on both uneven parallel bars (9.375) and balance beam (9.35), earning 38.025 out of a possible 40 in the all-around.

Johnson easily moves on to the Regional Championships, to be held April 15 at Lovejoy High School in Lucas. Gymnasts from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming will be competing for the top few spots that will advance to the Junior Olympic National Championships in Long Beach, California in mid-May.

Johnson, a junior at Allen High School, lives about a mile from the Regional competition site. After having traveled to Regionals at Denver two years ago, and New Mexico last year, she is excited at the prospect of being the level 10 gymnast who lives the closest to the venue. But she doesn’t want the season to end there. “I really want to make it to Nationals,” says Johnson. “I want to show myself and everyone else that I have the skills, work ethic, and determination to be a great gymnast and an asset to college teams.” Johnson moved to Texas from Southern California over 5 years ago, and would also enjoy the opportunity to return and see family, friends, and the beach.

Gym Closure

EWA will be closed for Friday Nite Open Gym 4.8.11, Saturday classes 4.9.11, and Gym Rentals this weekend due to the At The Hop TAAF meet hosted at Eagle’s Wings. Please call the office if you have any questions regarding the closure, and good luck to our EWA athletes this weekend!

Make-Up Class This Saturday

Have you missed a class recently?  Did you know there are 2 make-up options for you in case of a missed class?  1 option is to do our scheduled make-up class this Saturday from Noon-1p.  Are you signed up yet?  Reservations are a must, so call the office today {972.727.9911} to save your spot today! As a review, please review our make-up policy below.

Missing a Class - Athletes will be given two options for missing a class. In either case, the office must be notified within two weeks of the absence, and each athlete will only be allowed to make-up 1 class missed per month.

Option 1 is to attend our scheduled make-up class which is typically on the 3rd Saturday of the month {Please check our Calendar of Events for specific times each month}.  This class will be appropriate for all classes and all levels. Please preregister with the office.

Option 2 is to receive a free Open Gym pass allowing the student to attend either preschool Open Gym or Friday night Open Gym for free. This pass is not good for Saturday Night Out. For team make-ups, you must talk with your team coaches.
